Private Lessons


Designed to focus on improving your individual skill level. Sign up for either 1:1 private lessons or bring a buddy for a semi-private lesson. John can coach you through finessing your stroke and ultimately mastering the game of tennis.

Basically, he can teach you how to place it where you want it – right over the net!

Rates:

1 Hour:  $60
½ Hour: $35

Tennis Clinics


Tennis clinics are a fun, inexpensive way to “up your game”. Focus on fundamentals geared to your ability level, learn new strokes or mix it up with cardio/strength drills. Pick a clinic that best fits your desired goal or try them all!

Rates:

Clinic (60 min.):  $15
Beginner: $60 (4 Classes/$15 per class)
HIIT Clinic (60 min.): $15
Specialty Clinic (90 min): $80

Adult Clinic 60-min: Focus on tennis fundamentals depending on ability level with emphasis on games that simulate match play. For maximum playing time & instruction, clinics are limited to 4 participants. Clients must be 18 years of age or older to participate in Adult clinics.

Beginner Clinics: This is a structured 4-class package limited to 4 participants. Focus is on beginner tennis fundamentals and introducing new strokes on a weekly basis. Clinics are limited to 45 minutes for fewer than 2 clients, 30 minutes for 1 client. For optimal learning, Junior Clinics are divided by age group and levels.

HIIT Tennis Clinic-60min: Includes tennis drills mixed with cardio/strength/core exercises for full body conditioning. Maximum 6 players.

Specialty Clinic-90min: Designed for private groups focusing on specific drills. Contact Tennis Pro, John Hendrickson.


Players need to check-in first at the front desk before going out on the courts.

USTA Rating Breakdown


None or very little tennis experience.
This player is learning to judge where the ball is going although court coverage is weak. This player can sustain a slow rally with other players of the same ability.
This player is consistent when hitting medium pace shots, but is not comfortable with all stroke and lacks control when trying for directional intent depth, or power.
This player has achieved improved stroke dependability and direction on moderate pace shots but still lacks depth and variety. This player exhibits more aggressive net play, has improved court coverage and is developing teamwork in doubles.
This player has dependable strokes, including directional intent, on both forehand and backhand sides on moderate shots, plus the ability to use lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys with some success. This player occasionally forces errors when serving and teamwork in doubles is evident.

Get to know John

Hello SYC! My name is John Hendrickson and I am incredibly excited to be joining this incredible Club! I’ve been residing here in Nevada County for the past 10+ years and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Just a little about my background. I have been a USPTA Tennis Professional for almost 20 years. I have over 10 years experience as a Tennis Director. Plus I have over 8 years experience as a NASM Certified Personal Trainer.

My goal is to offer a Tennis Program that is fun, challenging and has something for everyone. No matter if your a beginner, intermediate, or advanced. There will be Clinic for you. Or if you need some personal help, Private Lessons are available. Social Tennis? You better believe it. Don’t have a game set up? Then Drop’n Tennis is the answer. Just show up at the scheduled times and get your swing on. Junior Tennis? Yes indeed. Junior clinics are ready to go for all ages and levels. I look forward to meeting all of you! If you don’t see me on the courts then I’ll be in the gym training clients or working out myself. Please join me into building an amazing Tennis Community here at SYC, but most importantly let’s have fun in the process!

Drop’n Tennis “FREE”


Don’t have a match set up? Not a Problem. We’ve got you covered. All you have to do is show up each week at the scheduled Drop’n Tennis time and be ready to play. This is a great way to meet new Tennis Pals and get your Game On! All levels are welcome and our Pro will organize and pair players.

Our desire is to build a fun a social tennis community. This is where it starts!

Sign Up & Play


Okay, here’s the scoop. Non SYC members are welcome to participate for the same fees as our members. (Yep – it’s true). However, all players must sign up before a session through their Mind/Body SYC account, or by contacting our Tennis Pro, John Hendrickson. As a bonus, players may sign up for multiple classes weeks in advance with advance purchase. Purchase is non-refundable unless notification to our Tennis Pro is received at least 24 hours prior to class/lesson.
